About Me
Architecture has always been an interest and passion for me. I have been interested in the spatial layout within buildings from a young age and have taken inspiration from other people's houses to design the layout of my dream home. It made sense for me to choose architecture to study at university.
Throughout my undergraduate study, I was keen to get involved as much as possible. I was an active Portsmouth Architecture Student Society (PASS) member. I took full advantage of the lectures provided, PodPass, social events and competitions. In my third year, I had the opportunity to join the RIBA Student Mentoring Scheme, which helped me network with people in the industry. During my third year, I was also a student demonstrator, working with the second-year students to develop their technical skills and my own. In 2021, I graduated from the University of Portsmouth with a first-class honours degree in Architecture.
Since graduating, I have worked as an Architectural Assistant at Harding Rose Architects. I completed my Part 1 placement with Harding Rose. I was subsequently offered the opportunity to remain with the company to complete my master's degree as an apprentice while studying at the University of Portsmouth.
While studying and working, I ensure I get involved in architecture events such as RIBA lectures and Women in Architecture events. I am inspired and excited to continue my study and architectural development over the remainder of my master's study.

Developing more responsibilities, including client contact and freedom in the design stages.
Attended site visits to houses in a small team or individually to conduct initial design conversations and site surveys.
Developed construction drawing skills, ensuring compliance with building regulations. Worked and communicated with the structural engineer to prepare a complete set of construction drawings.
I attended a planning hearing for a site taken to appeal and learned how to prepare for the appeal and what takes place during the meeting. Met and connected with other professionals, including highway designers, landscape designers and planning consultants.
Worked as part of a team to design residential projects of various sizes—developed skills from initial design stages to construction drawings.
Led and was a member of the team through the design process. Worked alongside the team and the client to gain planning permission for residential and commercial projects. Ensured that all designs complied with building regulations and housing space standards.
Attended site visits to carry out house surveys to ensure the project went according to plan.
Communicated with clients via email, phone, and meetings to ensure customer satisfaction.
Demonstrated and operated software packages, including Rhinoceros 3D, Autocad, VRay, Revit, Sketch-Up, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
Prepared and provided workshops and practical information to students and ensured material was available electronically.
Reviewed students' work and provided advice and comments.
Responded to student queries as they arose during sessions/workshops and provided a proactive service through scheduled sessions.
Communicated with staff and peer mentors to ensure effective working relations.
Two weeks of professional experience at Michael Aubrey Partnership. I further developed my architectural skills and understanding of a structural engineering job.
Worked alongside qualified architects learning to use CAD software, including Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop and InDesign.
Team member designing new shopfronts for Castleford shopping village. I focussed on drawing the existing shopfronts using Revit and helped qualified architects draw a proposed design for the new shopfronts.
Worked alongside a qualified architect to enhance the drawings of the new Bicester Village play area using Photoshop.
Created a presentation to sell the designs to the clients using InDesign and delivered the presentation internally to senior management.
Personally designed and drew a window for an apartment in London using Revit, meeting building regulations and the client's specifications.
Attended site visits to Bicester Shopping Village, Oxford and Bristol to understand how the buildings sit in their environment. I joined meetings with the clients, structural engineers and project managers.
Some of my Skills.....
In my spare time I enjoy sketching and prefer still life subjects, street scenes and buildings.
I have experience in the use of Revit, Rhino, AutoCAD, Google Sketch Up, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Firework.
Throughout my degree I have created many 3D architectural physical models and CAD models. I have used a variety of materials to build physical models and I make mock-up and sketch models using cardboard and paper.
I enjoy technical drawing using CAD or by hand. This gives me a greater understanding of how a building is constructed.
